Jamb modifies utme registration: you can now chose two universities.

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board JAMB has said that it has made some
modifications on the 2016/2017 registration as
it concerns selection of institutions by candidates.
According to the Public Relations Officer of
the board, Dr Fabian Benjamin, the board has
made provision for “preferred choice” to give candidates ample opportunity of gaining
admission.
In his words, “What we did initially was that you only have one choice. Now, we have made it in such a way that if you miss the University of Lagos;University of Nigeria,
Nsukka; Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife,and Ahmadu Bello University, Zaira, you will have an opportunity of going to another school.
Before, all universities will be in first and second choice and that will not solve any problem. We have now decided to put a few of those schools we feel will have more spaces as more preferred.
Institutions placed on the more preferred choice are those that are mostly not
oversubscribed. This is because it will not make any sense if you place institutions like the ABU, UNILAG, OAU and UNN, when in actual sense they cannot even admit one third of the candidates that will choose them as most preferred.”
We therefore advise candidates to ensure
they visit accredited registration centres for
registration where they will be properly guided on this new option and ask questions
if the need clarification.

Boko Haram:Soldiers speaks on what boosts their morale.

Some soldiers of the Nigerian army who are fighting with insurgents in Baga have said that they are not very comfortable with the use of artillery.
Soldiers of the Nigerisn army
Speaking with Daily Post, some soldiers said that they would have preferred using Rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs) as the machine boosts their morale and encourages them to fight against the deadly Boko Haram sect.
According to one of the soldiers, the artillery should be scrapped because even
terrorist do not fear the sound that it produces, but that they fear RPGs.
“Last week when they brought RPGs, see
how happy our guys were. We charged at
the Boko Haram guys and killed over 100,
but we lost 4 soldiers. In fact, it is better
than before, when artillery will be firing
but no target. This one, you will see how
you are clearing the Boko Haram boys and
you are sure you killed them,” the officer said.
Speaking about the recent Boko Haram attack, another soldier said:
“Three days ago at Durun Giwa, the
insurgents came attacking us with mortar.
They fired over hundred and arrested one
Fulani man and stripped him necked.
They sent him to us to tell us that, we
should be gathering all the weapons
because they are coming to collect
everything.”
The soldier said that they allowed the Fulani man to go back and tell militants
that they were gathering the weapons, and they should come and collect them.
He added that after a short time, insurgents began to fire at them, but when the soldiers returned fire with the
RPGs, the area was cleared of the insurgents in 30 minutes.
The soldiers revealed that they were happy with the decision of the military
authority that they would now spend two years at an assignment and be transferred. However, one of the soldiers did not want to leave Maiduguri after he
was transferred out of the state.
“He did not want to live because he was
never asked to go to the bush to fight,
otherwise he would have appreciated God
for the transfer,” another soldier noted.
Meanwhile, the Nigerian Air Force has carried out air strikes and destroyed
the terrorists’ vehicle workshops, fuel and
ammunition dumps all within the Sambisa forest.
Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar assured
Nigerians that with these successful strikes on the terrorists, their capabilities
have been further degraded to pave the way for the final onslaught by the land
forces to meet President Mohammadu Buhari’s directives to bring insurgency in the North-East to an end.

president Buhari shy at the presence of women-presidential aide.

Some insight has been provided into
President Muhammadu Buhari’s
aversion for women and the low
number of female appointments since
he assumed office, with his Senior
Special Assistant, Political Matters, Mr.
Gideon Samani, disclosing that the
president did not include many women
in his cabinet because he is “very shy
dealing with the opposite sex”.
Samani, who spoke on Thursday in
Abuja at the fifth annual lecture series
organised by the Change We Need in
Nigeria group, said Buhari was used to
interacting with men, but added
quickly that the issue of gender
inequality would be addressed by the
president.
His statement contrasted with that of a
ministerial nominee from Kogi State,
Mr. James Ocholi (SAN), who in defence
of the low representation of women in
the federal cabinet, told the Senate on
Thursday that Buhari had brought
women into prominence, including the
late Prof. Dora Akunyili.
According to Samani, “If you are close
to Mr. President, you will know that he
has the interest of the nation as his
uppermost priority. He did not
intentionally marginalise women.
“It is just that Mr. President is shy with
women. He has been interacting mostly
with men. I can assure you that in the
shortest time, this issue of gender
inequality will be dealt with.”
Samani, who was once a Speaker of the
Kaduna State House of Assembly and
represented the Secretary to the
Government of the Federation, Mr.
Babachir Lawal at the event, said the
Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lost the
last election to the All Progressives
Congress (APC) due to insecurity,
economic challenges and corruption in
high places, thereby forcing the people
to seek for change.
“The change we seek is real and not
mere rhetoric. People must feel it,
touch it, and experience it across the
different strata of our society – in
schools, churches, market places and at
all our duty posts.
“It is not going to be business as usual.
Many guilty Nigerians, of their own
accord, have fled the country. Our
public institutions are now working.
“The availability of fuel and the
generation and distribution of power
have improved ever since. All hands
must be on deck for all of us to be
these agents of change,” he stated.
Speaking at the event, Senator Chris
Anyanwu expressed disappointment
with the appointments made so far by
the president, stating that despite the
fact that the number one citizen
benefitted immensely from female
voters, he has relegated them to the
background.
She noted that so far, no woman from
the South-east had been given a
political appointment and that even the
numbers of women in Buhari’s
government is a far cry from what
obtains worldwide.
"Mr. President has benefitted so much
from us. We don’t expect him to draw
us back. Women are able and strong to
move this nation forward. Anything you
do, you should know that the whole
world is watching you".
So far, women have been
marginalised. No woman from the east
has been given a political appointment
and the ones he did were a far cry to
what is obtainable anywhere in the
world.
“We talk of change but we are afraid of
the change. We have moved from the
era where women clapped and danced
for male politicians. President Buhari
should be gender sensitive. He should
open the door and let women rise up to
their full potential,” she said.
The senator added that gender equality
should begin with parents by treating
their children equally.

63 year old Charly Boy Calls Himself Lucifer.

Charly Boy is no stranger to controversy. The veteran entertainer has been controversial for at least 4 decades and while his new pictures in which we see him wearing a scarf with a transparent fabric wrapped around his chest are pretty tame compared to the nekkid pics we’ve seen of him in the past, it’s what he chooses to call himself that is shocking!
The 63 year old captioned one of the pictures, “I am Lucifer”
According to the church ‘Lucifer’ is another word for Satan/the Devil. Lucifer
also means, “Morning Star” or “The planet Venus when appearing as the morning star” See what he had to say about calling himself Lucifer and see the rest of the pics after the jump I Am, Lucifer.
No come dey frown face as if you be winche. As you don hear Lucifer now, edey be you like make you take off? Sometimes I wonder, What’s really is in a name.
Yea! Sometimes a name could be such a big deal. Am sure you’ve heard the phase “As pious as a Pope”, but sometimes some of the Popes ain’t all that, abi? As gentle and peaceful as Jesus, who really thought his followers Love and tolerance.
Now,when you hear the name Lucifer nko? All negative things come tobmind, like demons, Satan, evil, wickedness, name it. However, such mindset
is as laughable as it is ridiculous and nonsensical.
Now, let me bring light to the hidden things of darkness. The task is a laborious one but it is neither impracticable nor useless, just a way of sharing this Truth on somethings hidden by the darkness of prejudice and ignorance.
The ignorant erroneously believes that Lucifer = Satan, has struck its roots too deep in the soil of blind faith, to allow many people to bravely, boldly, and unashamedly accept the true origins and true nature of what the so-
called Lucifer actually is. Those who attempt to do so are always bound to be
immediately labelled as “satanists” and “devil worshippers” like Us, by a
certain class of Christian, those whose trademark characteristics invariably
tend to be wilful ignorance and mental laziness.
It has indeed become a “branded name,” one which still automatically conjures up the image of an anthropomorphic devil even in the minds of the most hardened atheists. Haba, e don do.
Consider these few points.
“Lucifer” literally means Lightbringer, Lightbearer, Bringer of Dawn, Shining
One, or Morning Star. The word has no other meaning. Historically and astronomically. The word “Lucifer” occurs only once in the entire Bible. This is in Isaiah 14:12, which says: “How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer,
son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst
weaken the nations!” Those who read this verse in its actual context will clearly see that the sentence is applied specifically to a certain Babylonian king who was an enemy in war of the Israelites.
Christianity does not have a monopoly on the term “Lucifer” nor on its definition. The Christian concept and definition of the term “Lucifer” is merely the latest in a long line of definitions and interpretations of this pre-
Christian-term All of this, so f**king what Charly?
Christians who claim that Lucifer is the devil actually have no Biblical basis or authority for such a belief. Though they may claim to be “Bible believing Christians” whose faith is built solely on “the Word of God” they are actually followers – in this and many other respects – of Christian religious tradition
and not of the Christian Bible. Or have they quietly conferred divine infallibility upon their Pastors, Prayer warriors, and Man of God.
Yes, I am Lucifer and am Proud.

Voting Is Satanic And Contrary To The Will Of God - Jehovah Witnesses

Jehovah Witness members have been asked not to collect voters card, nor vote or contest in the forthcoming elections because it is satanic and contrary to God’s commandment.
PM NEWS reports , they have been banned from participating in the electoral process because they are still waiting for the kingdom of God that is yet to be established on earth, which is the ultimate.
Read the report below:
When our reporter spoke to some of the members who confirmed the directive, they
claimed that the order was right because they are still waiting for the kingdom of God that is yet to be established on earth.
A minister in the congregation, James Uduok,
explained that every member of Jehovah’s Witness knows that participating in election is
satanic and contrary to the will of God.
Uduok said that the teaching of the Witness was strongly embedded in the Bible and all
members must adhere strictly to the teaching or leave the congregation.
The members defended their decision not to vote or get involved in the electoral process by quoting Mathew 6: 9 and Mathew 4: 8.
Mathew 6: 9 says: “This is how you should pray: Our Father in heaven may your holy name be honoured. May your kingdom come.”
To members of Jehovah’s Witness, this scripture implies that the kingdom of God has
not come and they are still waiting for it to come.
Also, Mathew 4: 8 is a scripture that dwells on
how the devil took Jesus to a high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the
world and promised to give them to Him if He bowed down and worshipped him.
Members of Jehovah’s Witness claim that this world belongs to satan and insist that God’s
kingdom has not yet come.
When our reporter sought the views of non members, especially pastors, their response was contrary to the teaching of the Witnesses.
Pastor Jude Chukwurah noted that their belief was strange because the same Bible mandated Christians to respect constituted authority.
“God recognises leadership and authority of leaders in the society,” he said.
Chukwurah said even in ages past, there was clamour for leaders as reported in the Bible and the people elected their leaders.
Another pastor, Michael James, said the Witnesses are misinterpreting the Bible and
should be ignored. He warned that their belief was not consistent with biblical teaching, adding that if such
teaching is followed it could lead their members to imbibe false doctrine that could
lead them to hell.
